This is a bit of a personal story, just to spice things up a bit. That last post was a bit spicy. But here we go with a trip down memory lane. I first discovered the internet in 1995. I was purely a consumer. And then I basically didn’t do anything for a goodly number of years.
Whilst living with some friends a few years ago, they were mucking around with money doublers - and I got my little fingers burnt. Silly me. And then I thought traffic exchanges were the way to go. A lo of time spent with little result. A quick sojourn through safelists, which managed to fill my inbox with unbelievable amounts of crud. Then I decided to write my ebook - which I actually did write. This took me a few months. You can see the site at www.90minutecarsalesman.com
This has attracted a little bit of attention. At first I sold it, then I gave it away for months and now I am back selling it again as of 2 months ago. Well I had too - people wanted to be my affiliate program. And since it was free they weren’t going to make very high commissions - were they? I sell a few copies a month now - which helps cover the cost of the hosting. Oh yes - it’s a cool book on how to sell your own car.
Then I came up with the idea of this site - a site where I could let people know about cool tools that I found… and cool tools I use. I didn’t write much for a month or so, but lately I feel the urge again. So here I am. These last posts are a little more off the cuff, but hey, if you’ve got time to file your nails - you’ve got time to read my little story.
So back to the history of things. This site is growing but I have a few other sites as well which I’m also building up. They have been taking up a lot of time, plus I’ve been learning php and lately C#.
In fact in the last year I have packed in an incredible diet of marketing, copywriting web site design html, php, css java, perl, c#. So it’s been an intensive year of study and learning, but i have also done stuff too and made some money.
I believe that once you learn something you then enter into another phase which is a production phase. This is like the ebb and the flow of things. Inwards comes the knowledge - outwards goes the application.
Through application we hone our knowledge to workable principles and eventually attain mastery.
I am not there yet - but good stuff is happening - I have aquaintainces who want to pay me real money for my knowledge. I am enjoying my journey - it’s a little hairy at times, but I am closer to being me than I have been for a long time - I’m sure you understand what I mean. If you don’t
you haven’t had a midlife crisis yet. I had mine at 17. Grin.
So in summary - it’s time to get some products out. Here is my best advice - hang in there. Don’t give up. Don’t do stupid things - don’t hang out with stupid selfish people. If you’ve lost your sense of humour you are on the way out. Oh yes, drink water - most people are dehydrated.
And now onto something really sensible … we hope
