Is your Nucleus blog getting inundated with comment spam? I have a nucleus blog as well as a wordpress blog. I like them both and I don’t want to close the doors just because my blog was becoming the gateway to gambling heaven or hell from spammers over at terrysmazda.com among others. I’m doing a little test right now and have implemented a nucleus plug-in to stop comment spam -NPcaptcha to force turing codes for comments and registrations.
So far it’s working like a charm. From the volume of comment spam I was getting I assumed the offending sites were using automated software - there were other clues to this, such as the junky syntax and random phrase inclusions designed to supposedly make their c*ap look more natural.
Well, I gotta tell you, it’s a good feeling being able to do something about it.
At the moment the status quo on my other blog is - you can spam it if you register and then do each post individually.
NP Captcha will prevent machine generated comment spam only. It’s a cool tool.
